Costa Rica hosts first ever International Ballet Festival

Earlier this month the inaugural International Ballet Festival of Costa Rica was held at The National Theater, in the capitol city of San José.

Having never seen a festival of this kind in Costa Rica, it’s attendees included international organizations such as The Washington Ballet, Sarasota Cuban Youth Ballet Company, Milwaukee Ballet, La Jovem Companhia de Ballet de Leiria, el Ballet de Santiago de Chile, as well as The National Ballet of Panama.

The National Ballet of Costa Rica performed the globally known classic “Dracula.” Academies and dance studios from all parts of Costa Rica we’re represented at this event. The duration of the festivities lasted all weekend. The National Ballet of Costa Rica went on to comment “A great weekend full of ballet, international stars and wonderful audiences at each of the events. It was an incredible experience.”
