The 18th Pan-American games began last Friday the 26th and we are now well into the action. The Pan American Sports Organisation, or PASO for short, are the hosts of the games, whose whole structure is defined by the Olympic Charter. The competitions feature a wide range of summer sports such as; basketball, wrestling, soccer and rowing, with competitors from Canada down to Argentina. At the moment the medal leader is the United States with 60 total medals. The States are leading in the categories of Gold(25) and Silver(22), with Mexico leading in Bronze with 18 medals. Costa Rica is currently tied for last with Jamaica, who both have one bronze medal. We may be 5 days in, but there are still 12 days left to go until the closing ceremonies on the 11th of August.
