5 medals earned for Costa Rica in Pan-American games

The Pan American games concluded yesterday and Costa Rica have exited the competition with some hardware.  Of the 5 medals earned 4 were bronze and 1 gold earned by Andrea Vargas in the 100 meter women’s hurdles.  With her gold medal run, Andrea earned her spot in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.  The bronze medals were earned by the women’s soccer team, Nishy Lee Lindo in taekwondo, Diana Brenes in judo and Felipe Camacho and Andrés Acuña in racquetball.  The top 3 countries with the highest medal count were the United States (293), Brazil (171), and Mexico (136).  The United States who more than doubled the gold medal count of runners-up, Brazil easily controlled the field.
