    Nosareña Jimena Ruiz to bring home bronze medal from ISA World Para Surfing Championship

    Nosareña Jimena Ruiz age 13 to compete in ISA World Para Surfing Championship

    The 2020 AmpSurf ISA World Para Surfing Championship will take place in La Jolla, California in March. Jimena Ruiz, a 13yr old local Nosareña will be there to compete, representing not only Nosara but Costa Rica as well.

    Last August 2019, the State Phytosanitary Service (SFE), of the Ministry of Agriculture and
    Livestock (MAG), presented the 2018 report on the analysis of pesticide residues on fresh vegetables in Costa Rica for national distribution, and the ones intended to import.

    Nicoya Municipality invests ₡128.4 million in Nosara drainage systems

    In October the Municipality of Nicoya began the construction of a drainage system in Nosara, a project with an investment of ₡ 128.4 million, and that must be carried out in the area prior to any asphalting on those roads. Only in concrete ditches, the section is 1.2 kilometers (approximately).

    The Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica has formally approved the bill that establishes a National Surfing Day. Surfing becomes the first official sport to have its own celebration day in Costa Rica.

    Wildlife bridges installed in Nosara along Ruta 160

    With help from various organizations, the Nosara area has seen 5 more arboreal wildlife bridges installed along the Ruta 160 from Playa Garza to Esperanza. This addition makes a total of approximately 30 bridges in our area.
